Rich heritage captured in texture, design and motif. The history instilled in India’s hand-crafted textiles is endlessly enchanting.

Traded throughout the world since Roman times, Indian textiles blend influences of the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas. They transcend cultures and generations, while remaining quintessentially Indian—and indisputably beautiful.

Generations of skilled Indian artisans have created one of the most extraordinary and diverse repertoire of living crafts that can be found anywhere in the world. With creative flair, they inter-weave complementary colors, geometric patterns and motifs inspired by nature such as birds, vines and flowers. Indian design reached its cultural zenith during the golden age of the Mughals, the Muslim dynasty of Mongol origin that ruled much of India from 16th to 18th centuries.

Marigold Living is dedicated to keeping this design legacy alive. It is at the heart of everything we do. The graphic icon of a marigold flower in our logo is derived from an Indian cotton printer’s pattern book from the 1910’s.

Marigold Living textiles bring a touch of modern to timeless design, while giving warmth to traditional and contemporary settings. Add in all-natural materials and centuries old expertise applied meticulously, and you get an authenticity long cherished by people around the globe.

We source only the best artisanal fabrics from regions across India. With each purchase of any of the Marigold Living textiles online, you help sustain the livelihoods of craft communities, empower artisans and preserve the intrinsic knowledge of an age-old craft.
