Bandhani Wool Scarf - Cobalt Blue
SWO53BANCBInspired by Bandhani sarees, our Bandhani scarf is a modern-day adaptation with soft 100% Merino wool replacing the traditional silk. Believed to bring good fortune, Bandhani sarees are still worn by brides in Western India.
To create the simple yet striking design, artisans employ ancient tie-dye techniques. Sections of the fabric are tightly tied with thread to create numerous dots before dipping into vats of colorful dye. The tied knots are then opened, forming a delightful pattern of white dots against the colored background. It’s an enduring family trade - the men do the dyeing while the women painstakingly tie each pin-head sized dot.
A chic twist on tie-dye, this comfortingly thick Indian wool scarf wraps well around your neck and shoulders to keep out the cold.
