Dyed in rich indigo color pigment, our Nagina tablecloth is ideal for when you’re entertaining and just as lovely beneath a simple family meal. The word indigo is derived from the Greek word for the dye “indikon,” meaning a product from India, the earliest major center for indigo production.

We use resist-printing techniques to create our Indian indigo tablecloths. Small motifs and a spotted border are hand block printed on white fabric using dye-resistant paste made with mud, locally known as dabu. The fabric is then dipped in an indigo dye bath after which the resist is removed, resulting in an eye-catching pattern standing out in white against the colored background.

Printed on smooth 100% cotton fabric, these versatile cloths can be used as bedspreads for a twin or twin-XL-size bed or draped over a couch to add color and pattern to your space.

The tablecloth is available in a slightly lighter indigo hue as shown in additional images.

*Some color rub-off is to be expected in indigo hand printed textiles. We recommend cold washing separately before use.
